Author Bio:

I was Georgia born and raised, now residing in the great state of Tennessee. True southern girl at heart. I have a wonderful supportive husband who, no lie, I honestly believe is my soul-mate. My two wild children consists of an 11 year old mini ball player and 5 year old little princess. We can’t forget about my fur baby, Primrose. She’s a Boxer/Boston Terrier (picture a tiny boxer) and yes she was named after a character from one of my all time favorite books, see if you can guess.

Lately, I’ve been glued to a screen writing. When I need a break you can find me hiking with the hubs at one of the many state parks, or if we have a long weekend, at the beach or in the mountains. I love all kinds of music and movies. I must say most of my favorites lists on both consist mostly of 80’s stuff. My favorite hobby is and will always be reading. I read every genre, but I am definitely a post-apocalyptic and paranormal freak. You’ll more than likely find me biting into a vampire novel or devouring a zombie book. Have more questions that I didn’t answer? Feel free to contact me via email or anywhere on social media. ~Courtesy of Brandy’s About page on her website

The Interview:

1) 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝑯 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒓𝒆? 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒕?

Years ago, I read these books based around this one small town. Within were all kinds of relationships that were accepted as a natural part of society. Normal even. I honestly think that’s what started my RH acceptance/obsession. Then, years later, I found myself wanting a kickass vampire with her own harem. There weren’t any that I could find, so I wrote one.

2) 𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒆 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔? 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅/𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈?

My favorite parts to writing a story is always going to be letting the imaginary characters inside my head come out to play, hoping people enjoy them as much as I love writing about them. The easiest part for me is always the beginning and end. The in between stuff is harder for me. The process itself…. write every SINGLE day. Even if I don’t get many words in. If I don’t, I get distracted and binge TV Shows or books.

3) 𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒖𝒑 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔?

I can’t really say that there has been any particular person that inspired a character. However, there are a lot of places that will inspire a scene in a story. Such as Mel’s dream at the beach boardwalk in the first Lady of Darkness. On vacation I happened upon one, and decided right then and there that it was going to be a setting somehow.

4) 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏’𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒏𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝒀𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒕 (𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝒖𝒑𝒔, 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔). 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 (𝒐𝒓 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒖𝒔) 𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌?

This is really difficult and not just as a question. Everyone has their own opinion as to what makes a good book. Some people like funny. Some like the suckerpunch to the feels. Others like midnight dark. I’ve had to learn to accept that not everyone will like my books and that’s ok! I allow the characters to speak and write their own stories. I step in occasionally to say, “Nah that won’t work,” or “Hell yes, I like where you’re going with that.” This will likely make me sound insane, but I treat my characters like real people, putting myself in their shoes.

5) 𝑾𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘?

Honestly? I try to leave all content for the reader to get the full effect of what I may have been feeling at the moment. Have I gone back after edits and added a scene or extended a scene? Yes, lol.

6) 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒔𝒐 𝒇𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆?

Another difficult question, because anyone who knows me, knows I don’t ever pick favorites. I loved writing Mel from my Lady of Darkness Series, because she is a kickass female who accepts life as it comes to her and is willing to go straight to battle for the ones she cares about. The second book in that series follows Alivia, and there’s some really dark stuff that made her a super interesting character to try and share headspace with. Imma from New Year Surprises was so much fun. She’s quirky, sarcastic, and down right awkward and I love it. That cast will be getting a full length novel coming January 2020, and I cannot wait to write with her again. Kendall from my White Trash Trilogy was probably one of the most real characters ever to take a place amongst the many in my head. Her story touched a place in my soul none of the others have. Just the fight she has to put forth is one that a lot of people struggle with every day. Hopefully her story has helped at least one person realize that it can get better. Never ever give up. Last but not least, every single one of the main male characters will always hold a special place in my heart. My personal harem has been well over the double digits for a while now lol. Secret interview reveal…there has been only one set of people that were based off real life people. The band in Lady of Darkness when I first started writing was an actual band. Before publishing, I changed everything up. I wanted them to play a larger part in the books with no reference to the real world.

7) 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏’𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈?

Names are very, very important. It can make or destroy a character I feel. I’m always careful picking them. With the genre getting so large, it’s hard to avoid clashing with others. However, it’s like the real world. Do you know how many Brandy’s I know? Lol I can honestly say, I’ve never changed a name due to characteristics, or morphing of their story.

8) 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔 (𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒓𝒆) 𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝑷𝑶𝑽𝒔?

This one takes us back to the response on question four. I don’t find it particularly difficult writing about, or in the guy’s POV. They’re all different people to me. They all have their own quirks and faults like we do.

9) 𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒚𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈?

I’m most certainly a reader first, but I try not to let anyone influence my style. Do I strive to be on the same level as some of my favorite authors? Definitely! Do I want to write like them? No ma’am! It’s one of the things that makes a book grand to me, individuality and uniqueness.

10) 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅?

The most important one will always be to the readers. Without them, I couldn’t do what I love. I’ll never stop being grateful for them. My very first book Of Death and Darkness was dedicated to my father. He was always my biggest supporter of finishing it and trying to get it published. Unfortunately, he passed away before he was able to see it happen. I finished it within a year, publishing, and dedicating it to him.

11) 𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒑𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒔, 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝑹𝑯 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒔?

My advice for new authors? Write! If you have a story sitting in your head, on your chest, or within your soul, write it. Never doubt yourself and remember, we’re all different. There’s always going to be one person out there who doesn’t like it. Don’t let that influence your decision on giving up.

12) 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚; 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏? 𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒖𝒑𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎?

Ha! That’s a loaded question. I just finished the last book in the White Trash Trilogy. It should be releasing at the end of April. I’m rewriting the Lady of Darkness Series seeing as it was my first books and all. I’ve learned so much in the past two years and want to make it better. They’re being revamped inside and out, hopefully to be released by the end of May. I’ve got a couple anthology stories in the works that’ll be out this year. One or two co-authored projects, with no due dates as of yet. I’m writing a standalone releasing in October. Keep your eyes peeled for that one, because it’s going to be a doozy. Then there is a series and a saga that I’ll be working on for release in 2020. Many exciting things happening soon!

That’s it Lovelies! I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity and corresponding with Brandy was just a dream come true! I hope you learned something about Brandy and her books from this interview or maybe just found a new author to read!

I have a deep passion for the RH genre. It is small right now, but gets bigger by the day and I am so happy that I got to spread it a little today! ~𝒜𝓊𝓉𝓊𝓂𝓃

MOXIE is a full-length new adult erotic rockstar read. This book is a MMMFMM romance/menage romance/reverse harem story with one lucky girl and her five lovers. But this is about more than sex. This is the final installment.

🍁🍁🍁

The past isn’t something you run from; it’s something you walk slowly past, taking pictures, making memories. You learn from the bad times and treasure the good ones, but you leave that view firmly entrenched in the rearview mirror. All I want to see out the windshield is my future.”

I liked this final installment in the Rock-Hard Beautiful trilogy. While I did enjoy this installment, I feel this series has been dragged out too long. This was an okay book, I just feel like the story should have been over by now. It was… meh the whole way through it. The only reason I continued to read it was because I had already invested so much time in the series that it felt like a waste not to.

Lilith,” he says, and he sounds so boy next door, so apologetic, that I can hardly even believe he’s breaking up with me.
“I told you – I told you – that guys like Copeland Park were the most dangerous. The nice ones, the sweet ones, the ones that promise that everything will be okay with a single look. They’re the ones that fuck you over the hardest.”

SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I really liked this book. It was fast paced and I didn’t want to put it down. I enjoyed all of the different POVS and I thought they were all unique with distinctive qualities to them. I was really happy that this book started off right where Groupie ended and that the transfer from book one to book two was smooth and flowed well.

I like Lilith. I feel like she is a great balance for each of the boys and I think she compliments all of their different qualities really well. I like that she is always there for them, but she also allows them to take care of her in return. Even though not a lot of time has passed from where the series started, I feel like Lilith has grow tremendously and I feel like she has discovered who she was always meant to be.

I love the boys. They are all so different from each other it is shocking how they all fit together so perfectly. They each are what Lilith needs in different ways and I know that they will always be there to pick her up when she’s down. The boys all work together to be what Lilith needs and that is how I know that this relationship between them all will last.

I don’t know how I feel about the Paxton and Ransom relationship. I don’t really have a problem with it as long as it doesn’t negatively affect their relationship with Lilith. I do wish that C.M. Stunich would have given a little bit of warning in the synopsis though because I was a little blindsided by it. Though, I really should have seen it coming after the kissing and stuff between them in the last book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I am really interested in finding out what is going to happen next, especially with Lilith meeting Paxton’s family. I know that that isn’t going to go over well. I will definitely be continuing with the next book, Moxie.

Ten words. One text. That’s what it took to change the whole world.

A crumpled concert ticket. A chance encounter. That’s what it takes to start all over again.

Five rockstars. One girl. Six dark hearts, six withered souls.
But can one broken person really put another back together again?
And is a cross-country tour the place to do it?

🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

When you see another lonely traveler walking the same sad, strange path you almost fell off before … it’s only right to see if you can guide them down a different road.”

MINOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I loved this book! It was fast paced and constantly had my attention. I made the mistake of starting it late at night so I ended up staying up until six o’clock in the morning because every time I tried to stop reading it, I couldn’t.

Lilith was great. I felt so bad for her throughout this book. She was so real to me because of all of the real issues she has had to go through in her life. I have read many books where a characters’ parents died but I can honestly say that Lilith’s grief felt real to me. I felt her pain through C.M. Stunich’s writing and that only made me connect to her more.

I loved all of the guys. Muse, Copeland, Paxton, Ransom, and Michael were all very different from each other and each of their POVS were unique. In reverse harem novels, it is very important for each of the male characters to be unique and different from each other because otherwise, the story falls flat. I could tell the difference in the boys’ personalities and their thought processes very easily which is sometimes hard for an author to do so I was impressed.

One thing that shocked me was the rivalry between Paxton and Ransom. Usually when it comes to reverse harem books, all of the boys are best friends or are at least friendly with one another. Seeing how much animosity there was between the two band mates was shocking to me and I felt like it provided something real to the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I loved all of the boys individually but as a group, they fit so well together that it is astounding. Whatever Lilith needs, they can provide. I loved how they all took care of her and were there for her in different ways. I love these characters and I want more of them. It was a great start to the story and I can’t wait to read the next book!

Synopsis:

Four dragon lords. One virgin sacrifice.

When my village sacrifices me to the dragons, I go willingly to the Altar Rock to die.

But I don’t die.

I wake up in a castle built into a huge mountain. House Fra’Hir is one of many castles in the Drakoryan Empire. It is here I learn the truth — that women like me aren’t taken away to be devoured, but to be mated.

My mates, four sons of a dragon knight slain in the last battle of the ShadowFell, are unique both in personality and carnal abilities. They introduce me to the world of pleasure. In their bed chambers, they prepare me with masterful skill for the final, ultimate bond that will make me truly theirs.

But I am no passive mate, and the secret they keep from me threatens not only our bond, but the role I am prophesied to play in stopping a lurking danger that threatens the Drakoryan and human world alike.

This book contains depictions of graphic sex and fantasy battlefield violence. Please do not purchase if these themes offend you.

3.5 🍁s

SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I liked this book and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It has a pretty low rating on Goodreads and I thought that I wouldn’t enjoy it that much. I was a little leery to start reading it but I am ultimately glad I did. This book is proof that a Goodreads rating isn’t everything.

Lyla- I liked Lyla. She has a fire in her and it was entertaining to watch her. I loved when she stood up to her mates and it made smile when they were shocked by her audacity. Lyla was also very easy to connect with and her constant yearning for knowledge was a trait that I appreciated.

Drorgros- I liked Drorgros. He had that broody older brother with all of the responsibility on his shoulders vibe going for him. But he also had that compassionate caring side to him as well which showed with how he treated Lyla when they met.

Zelki- I didn’t know how to feel about Zelki at first. He came off as the jealous asshole that wanted to out do everyone else. I felt like he didn’t care about Lyla as a person and only cared about being the best sexually in her eyes. But, by the end of the book, I grew to care about his character and I realized that all of that anger and jealousy really comes from being the youngest and constantly feeling like he has to prove himself. That broke my heart and made me start to see his character for the good guy that he really is.

Tythos- Tythos was another character that I didn’t know how to feel about. At first, he came off like this player who didn’t want to settle down. He also didn’t think that a single woman could “handle him” which made me roll my eyes. I absolutely loved seeing Lyla put him in his place and make him realize just how wrong he was in thinking that.

Imryth- Imryth is that smart golden boy type that you wish all men were like. He is poetic and made my heart hurt with his sweetness.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The world it is set in is certainly interesting and unique. I am highly interested in continuing the series and reading about some of the other Drakoryan brides.

DNF 71%
This book just isn’t for me. The reason I am DNFing it is because I don’t care about the characters or plot, I feel like the RH romance is subpar, and, at the end of the day, I realized that I can completely walk away from this book and I don’t have even an inkling to pick it back up. That is not the feeling I want to have when I read a book. I feel like the author is rushing the story in places that she shouldn’t be (like the romance) and slowing parts down that she shouldn’t be (like the investigation that her mom is doing for her book).

This book was originally published as a regular romance (with just one love interest) and I can definitely see evidence of that in the way that the book is written. Certain love interests just feel thrown in there and the MC falls for them magically overnight. I need more substance to my romances then what this book has which is ultimately the main reason I am dropping it. At the end of everything, I just don’t care if the characters end up together or not and that is not how I should be feeling as a character driven/emotional reader.

Sunshine and Bullets (The Bullets #1) by Coralee June

Sunshine and Bullets (The Bullets #1) by Coralee June

Synopsis:

Sunshine.

It’s a nickname I haven’t heard since I lived on Woodbury Lane, where the houses were pretty but the secrets? Deadly. It was a pet name known only to the Bullets. Rough, violent, and ruthless, they laid claim to the town — and my heart.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for a boy from the wrong side of the tracks—especially not four of them. But they were the only ones who understood that sometimes hell hides in plain sight.

I was the girl with all the conveniences a privileged upbringing could provide. The world only saw two loving parents and a pristine home life, but I knew the truth. And it was going to get me killed. So, I disappeared, from everyone and everything I’d ever known. I changed my name and my appearance, but the scars I carry, they’re still the same.

The Bullets are all grown up now, too — a crime boss, a pro fighter, a bounty hunter, and a federal agent. Life took them in different directions, but they once shared the bonds of a brotherhood forged under the harshest conditions. Together they were fearless. Brutal. Unstoppable.

I’m praying they can find that unity again. If I’m going to survive this, it’ll take everything they have. Because that’s the thing about running from the past.

Eventually, it catches up to you.

🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:

“Being friends with the Bullets was like a drug, and I was an addict. One taste was never enough.”

Wow… I can honestly say that I was not expecting that. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did or enjoy it even a tenth of how much I did. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, my heart was being torn in all different kinds of directions, and I did not want to put this book down. It had me hooked from the very beginning and I couldn’t have let go even if I wanted to. This book truly is a masterpiece.

“At the core of my personality was just a broken girl that loved too deeply.”

Summer/Sunshine- I fell in love with Summer’s past self and her present one. She is written beautifully and I deeply admire her. She has a hidden strength in her that a lot of people don’t and her story is one that I will never forget. It touched me deeply and her character really struck a cord in me. I can’t imagine going through what she did and the fact that she survived it all is truly a miracle.

“Gavriel wanted to control me. Blaise wanted to see me. Callum wanted to save me. Ryker wanted to punish me.”

Gavriel- Gavriel is one of those characters that calls to me in a way that he shouldn’t. He’s not the hero and certainly not the good guy. In a different book he could easily be the villain of the story. He’s hard, demanding, controlling, and sometimes he is just downright cruel. But… I get him. He’s not perfect and he’s never gonna be. He doesn’t disillusion anyone by trying to be something he’s not. Gavriel’s realistic and that part of his personality speaks to me more than anything else.

“You have to fight evil with evil. The road to justice isn’t lateral. Sometimes, it’s messy.”

Blaise- Blaise is the wanna be playboy/sarcastic guy that found the one and doesn’t know what to do about it. He does what he can to make her notice him, but what he truly doesn’t get is that she already did. Blaise is insecure and raw and I just want to hold him and make it all better.

“He saw the world like none other, but he couldn’t see himself.”

Ryker- It took a little while for the true Ryker to come through, but when he finally did, I loved him more than I thought I could. He is broken and damaged and insecure and lonely and scared. All he wants is for people to just stop leaving him and it broke my heart. He is this gruff fighter on the outside, but on the inside, he feels things deeper than all of the others do. His character is flawed and broken and I want to do anything I can to make it all better.

“You know what makes a person strong, Sunshine? It’s not their ability to hurt someone,” he began with a frown, “it’s their ability to take a hit.”

Callum- Out of the guys, Callum is the one I least connected with. That is not to say that I didn’t still love him, he just wasn’t as focused on in my opinion. He is taking his time coming around to the situation and I didn’t realize how he fit with the rest of the group until the end. He is just as broken as the rest of the guys are, he just hides it better than they do. Callum wants security and a family and, at the end of the day, isn’t that we all want? To be loved and to know that the ones we love will always be there? I get that. And that is why I fell for Callum as a character.

“It’s only when you’ve lost everything that you start to treasure the things you find.”

Nix- I LOVE NIX. He is one of my favorite characters (even though he was only in like 5% of this book. I loved everything about him and he always said what I was thinking inside my head. I need him in the next book. Badly.

“The road to hell and back was littered with casualties.”

Mr. Bright- I knew he was villainous and depraved, but I didn’t realize how much until the end of this book. Those couple pages in his “lair” made me absolutely sick and I am dreading his eventual return. As a villain, he is soundly scary and gives me the creeps.

“But love wasn’t enough when you were up against the devil.”

What I Liked Loved- I loved everything about this book. From the character drama, to the villain, to the past-present layout of the book, to the plot of the book itself. I’m going to say now, I am NOT a plot person. I am a character person through and through. It takes a lot to make me care about a plot and that is what this book did.

“I’ve always been content to be their lowkey secret. I’d rather know their hearts than see what everyone else saw.”

What I Didn’t Like- Nothing. This book was absolute perfection.

“The world broke us, and the only way we’ll ever feel whole again is with each other.”

Obviously, I highly enjoyed this book and will be continuing the series. I love these characters and I deeply care about what happens to them. I equally can’t wait and dread reading the next book. I want my babies to remain safe and in a happy bubble, even though I know that that isn’t going to happen. This is labeled dark for a reason. Unhappiness and tragedy come with the territory.

I liked this book. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first book though. I just had too many issues with it. For one, there isn’t enough build up for me. Everything I want is just being handed to me entirely too easily and I feel like the story is just moving too fast. I can barely get attached to the scene or what is happening to the characters because it goes by too quickly. I also don’t have any fear for the characters when they are in dangerous situations. I know that they will be fine and I just don’t care enough about the characters individually. I’m not emotionally invested at all. Overall, this just wasn’t the book for me and I will not be continuing the series. This is really a shame because it had a lot of potential.

“When you become Alpha, always keep your friends close and your enemies closer. And never let them know that they are your enemy until you are ready to play your hand.” His eyes bore into mine. “And never play your hand until you know you will win.”

I really liked this book. It was fast paced, constantly had my attention, and I finished it in one sitting because I could not put it down. The plot was unique and different which I enjoyed. There were also a few plot twists that I was not expecting which is always a plus.

Elizabeth- I really enjoyed Elizabeth as a main character. She was sassy and strong, but she also had an undertone of concern and self-doubt that made her very realistic. I appreciated it and made me connect with her character super easily.

The Guys- I didn’t get to see as much of the guys as I would have liked. I felt like Hunter took main stage for this book and all of the other guys were background noise. I mean Easton didn’t even show up until the end which was kind of annoying. I am wondering if this is going to be a guy per book type of series or if it only seemed like that since this is the first book and everyone is still being introduced.

Aaron- I was incredibly confused by Aaron. I knew this was an RH and I knew that Elizabeth’s love interests would be dragons so, when Aaron appeared, I had no idea what to think. I didn’t know if I was supposed to ship him and Elizabeth or if he was just temporary. I still don’t completely know how I feel about Aaron if I am being honest.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I had a lot of fun while reading it and I will most likely be reading the next book. I am excited to get started on Elizabeth and the Call of Dragons.

“I wanted to carve a slice of happiness out amidst the crazy, but the world might not let us.”

I really liked this book. It was a great second book to the series. I enjoyed the relationship development between characters and getting to delve more into their personalities. For instance, I learned something about Doc that surprised me and I am very interested in seeing where that leads.

The reason that I gave this book a lower rating than the last book would be for the use of the miscommunication trope. I HATE it so much and I really don’t like when authors use it. I feel like they should be able to come up with a genuine conflict between the characters instead of a misunderstanding that drives them apart over something stupid. It is a waste of my time and the consequences that that trope tends to have can be severe, particularly in the case of this book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I am considering reading the next book, but I am not sure. I feel like this story is being dragged out a little bit and I have absolutely NO interest in the cure/corrupt government plot line. I am here for the characters and that’s it. I’m just not sure if they are enough to motivate me to read the next book.
