Bookish Box Unboxings

UNBOXING: May Book Gizmo “Morally Grey Characters” Box

Hello Lovelies! I’m here today with a new box that I’ve never gotten from before, Book Gizmo. As soon as I saw this theme, I knew it was for me and that I HAD to try it! Morally grey characters are my favorites in books and I was SO excited for this box!

The Items:

Throne of Glass Candle by @california_candlecompany
Six of Crows Mouse Pad
Crescent City Lens Cloth
Illuminae Files Mini Book Sleeve
Three Dark Crowns Ribbon Bookmark

Overall, I really liked this box! I probably won’t start a monthly subscription with them, but for a one-off box, this was worth the money. The items were on the less unique side, but the artwork/designs on them were pretty and they were all useful in their own ways. My favorite items were probably the mouse pad and KOTW book sleeve, with my least favorite being the mini book sleeve (I like the design but it’s just too small to be practical).

Bookish Box Unboxings, Fantasy, TBR

UNBOXING: April Bookish Box “Ascend the Throne” Box

Hello Lovelies! I’m back with another Bookish Box unboxing! This month’s box was quite late due to the book’s release date, but it ended up being a great box so I was happy to wait!

The Book:

I LOVED THE BOOK PICK THIS MONTH!!! I literally cannot say that enough! I was so sad when no other boxes decided to include this book, so I’m so happy that Bookish Box did! Add on all their beautiful customizations, and I could not love this edition more if I tried!

The Items:

Art Print of May Theme Art by @morlev_art
Throne of Glass Pillow Case by @letterpiece
Monthly Collectable Pin: Lord of the Rings Pin by @pinsbyarisamon
Monthly Collectables: Double-Sided AEITA Bookmark & Candle

This items were pretty great this month! Even though it’s not my fandom, the book sleeve is absolutely stunning and the pin is one of my favorites that they have done!

I said it last month, but I feel like it’s worth mentioning again: I don’t really like the fact that one of the items included is the future theme art for the next month? It feels like a waste of an item and it’s not a choice that I would make, personally.

Next Month’s Box (May):

As far as next month’s box goes, I am so incredibly excited, it’s unreal!!! The book will be Realm Breaker which is one of my most anticipated releases for this year and the customizations sound amazing! The fandoms sound mildly intriguing, but none are my top fandoms so we’ll see. I do find it very peculiar that they are including FBAA two months in a row? I guess we’ll see!

Overall, I enjoyed this month’s box. The book makes it all worth it to me, but the pin and book sleeve made it doubly worth it! I can’t wait for next (this? lol) month’s box!

FairyLoot Unboxings, Fantasy, Favorites, TBR

UNBOXING: March FairyLoot “Frozen Fables” Box

Hello Lovelies! I’m back for the SECOND day in a row with an unboxing 🀩 This has certainly been a good week for unboxings! I know not to keep you waiting from this awesome box so let’s just get into it!!

The Book:

I can’t express to you guys how IN LOVE I am with FairyLoot’s edition of this book! I already knew it was going to be beautiful but it blew all of my expectations out of the water! It’s definitely one of my favorite exclusives that I have ever gotten from a book box!

The Items:

Wicked Saints Headband by @catarinabookdesigns
Even the Darkest Stars Socks by @jezhawk
Winterwood Phone Ring by @ironandinkdesigns

Monthly Theme Art Print & Bookmark
Monthly Tarot Cards: Winternight

FairyLoot, on top of having a stunning book this month, absolutely knocked it out of the park with these items! I love them all and some are so stunning that pictures can’t do them justice. The mug is by far my favorite I have ever gotten! The art is just so beautiful and it is definitely my favorite item in the box! I do really like the socks and notebook though! I can’t wait to use them! My least favorite item is probably the phone ring, but it is still a useful item!

I should note, I am missing an item (like all US residents) as it was delayed in customs. The spoiler card says it is a Foiled Art Print of Spinning Silver by @warickaart. I love that artist so I’m sure it will be stunning! The print is supposed to be included with my April box so you’ll get to see it when I unbox April!

Next Month’s Box (April!!!):

Next month’s box, just like this one, is one I am HIGHLY anticipating! The book is one of my anticipated releases and it’s supposed to have STENCILED EDGES which I am honestly SO excited about! As far as the items go, the fandoms sound pretty good as well! I’m probably the most excited for the Lord of the Rings item and foiled bookmark set! They also said the box will contain an item they’ve never done before so I am very eager to see what it is πŸ‘€

Overall, this is probably one of my favorite boxes that I have ever gotten from FairyLoot! Despite missing an item, the box is still incredibly put together and I love the wintery vibes of all the items! This box definitely shows why FairyLoot is the favorite box of many people!

Bookish Box Unboxings

UNBOXING: March Bookish Box “Crime & Passions” Box

Hello Lovelies! I’m back with my second unboxing since my break and I’m so excited! Anyways, I don’t want to keep you waiting so here is March’s Bookish Box!

The Book:

First off in this box, we have the beautiful book! I love all of the art and exclusive pieces that Bookish Box decided to do for this book. It is all very themed and the reverse dust jacket artwork is to DIE for!! While the genre that the book is (mystery/thriller) is not my thing, I can still appreciate its beauty!

The Items:

Kingdom of the Wicked Puzzle by @Jemlin_C.
The Shadows Between Us Bracelet
From Blood and Ash April Theme Art Print by @morlev_art
Monthly Collectable Pin: Sherlock Holmes Pin by @dustandpages

I enjoyed this month’s items! Overall, not their best box, though the value is still there. I really like the Crescent City book light and the key pin is fantastic! I’m not particularly fond of the fact that they used next month’s theme art as an art print/item? It just comes across as a cop-out to me. Plus I’m not really a fan of the art in general so I didn’t really need it as a print in the box, especially considering it’s the theme art for NEXT month?! I don’t know, it just doesn’t work for me.

Next Month’s Box (April!!!):

I’m excited about next month’s box! The book is going to be These Feathered Flames by Alexandra Overy which is one of my anticipated releases. The customizations sound AMAZING and the fandoms sound awesome! I’m SO excited for the Throne of Glass and Lord of the Rings items!

Overall, this was a solid box. The book and items, while not my absolute favorites, still worked. Bookish Box can be a hit or miss for me, but typically (like with this box) you can still find the value there. Here’s to hoping that next month’s is even better!

Fantasy, Favorites, Illumicrate Unboxings, TBR

UNBOXING: March Illumicrate “Fighting Spirit” Box

Hello Lovelies! I used to do unboxings on this blog a while back and I missed it so much that I decided to bring it back! I receive so much bookish merch (seriously I have a problem lol) so I really wanted to share it with you all! SO today I have the March Illumicrate box to unbox for you all! Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

First up in this box, we have the stunning book! The edges are a beautiful shade of red which happens to be my favorite color so naturally, I loved what the IC team chose to do! The naked hardcover is also beautiful and the description sounds awesome!

The Items:

Court of Miracles Pin Hoop
Bone Witch Heartglass Necklace
Kingdom of the Wicked Woodmark
Winternight Tote Bag

I LOVED these items!!! This box was amazing and all of the items are pretty useful! The RosieThorns88 mug is one of my absolute favorites they’ve ever done (I am biased though because it’s Cassie Clare lol) and the pin hoop is fantastically designed! I already have so many plans for it (involving some beautiful Reylo pins 😍) but it is beautiful on its own! The tote bag is probably my least favorite (just because I have so many) but it is still pretty!

Next Month’s Box (April!!!):

Y’all have no idea how excited I am for next month’s Illumicrate box!! The book is one of my most anticipated releases with a POLYAMOROUS relationship 😍! And the fandoms…. omg the fandoms are going to be THE BEST!! I NEED some more Gideon the Ninth and Nevernight items in my life so this box is automatically a win because it has BOTH!!!

Overall, I highly enjoyed this box! It’s one of the best ones I’ve gotten and I KNOW Illumicrate’s boxes are going to improve as the year goes on! The items are all great and the book is beautiful which is what I go into a box wanting so MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Extra, Fae Crate Unboxings

FAE CRATE UNBOXING: Break the Wheel (October 2019)

Screenshot_2019-06-11 Fae Crate - Let's live a thousand live together

Hello Lovelies! I’m back with another unboxing of my favorite subscription box, Fae Crate. These boxes are the highlight of my month and I could not love the items more! I hope you enjoy this month’s unboxing as much as I did! The items were really cute and some of them are up there when it comes to my favorites!

***There is also an option through Fae Crate to get a box with a shirt as well, but I typically opt-out of this option because of the cost. It is also more practical for me personally because I don’t typically wear t-shirts.***

October’s Theme:

Image result for fae crate october

Let’s start off with this month’s theme which was Break the Wheel! As soon as I saw this theme, I knew this month’s box was going to be great! Break the Wheel is one of my favorite plot points in books and, once I heard the fandoms for this month, there was no way I was not going to buy this box!

The art for this month was based on Sarai and Lazlo from Strange the Dreamer and I think that it was absolutely perfect for this theme! It got me SOOO hyped for this box!

The Box Itself:

For those that haven’t seen my previous unboxings, this is what the box looks like. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?!

I just love everything about this book and the way it looks. The color and logo fit the company perfectly, the *CAUTION: magic inside* lid is absolutely adorable, and the sides that have the company slogan which says, β€œLet’s live a thousand lives together” just warms my heart.

The Items in the Box:

image1

Reign the Earth Patch ~ I have not read this series yet, but it is on my TBR. This patch was really cute though and it is currently occupying my bookshelf.

image2

Meira Chapstick ~ This chapstick is supposed to represent Meira from Snow Like Ashes. The flavor is frozen berries and it smells really good.

image0(1)

Bone Witch Socks ~ I found these to be absolutely ADORABLE!! They fit the October month really well and I just love the sayings on the bottoms.

image2(1)

Strange the Dreamer Mouse Pad ~ This was by far one of my most favorite items in the box. It was absolutely perfect and I use it every day now!

image3

Gentlefriend Pillowcase ~ The only item that could top the mouse pad was this one! It is based on Nevernight and, after recently just finishing that series and it being one of my favorites, I could not love this pillowcase more! AHHHHH!!! I fell to the floor screaming when I saw it in the box!

Monthly Polaroid and Coin:

For those that don’t know, each month Fae Crate has a monthly Polaroid picture that they include and a monthly coin. These are exclusive to each month and you cannot get them again. Fae Crate announces what the Polaroid is to look like and what fandom the coin is going to be from on their Instagram. I highly encourage you to check them out so you can decide if you want a box before they sell out!

image4

The Darkest Minds Polaroid ~ I absolutely love this Polaroid! It is so beautiful and captures the gang in The Darkest Minds perfectly! It is by far one of my favorite Polaroids!

image0(2)

Three Dark Crowns Coin ~ I. AM. SO. IN. LOVE. WITH. THIS. IT. IS. NOT. EVEN. FUNNY. LOOK AT THE PERFECTION THAT IS THIS COIN!!! It is definitely my favorite in the coin collection!

November’s Polaroid and Coin have already been announced. For those that want to know, they are:

  • LIFEL1K3 Polaroid & King Arthur Coin

Monthly Ebook Download:

Each month not only does Fae Crate include a hardcover book, but they also include a code so you can download a free ebook! The ebook for this month was Significance by Shelly Crane. This is a book that I have already read and have loved for years. It is one of my favorite series out there so I was really happy to get this ebook!

Book of the Month:

36321739

The Book of the Month wasΒ The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco. I am highly anticipating diving in to this book and I am extremely happy that it was the selection for this month. That cover is absolutely stunning!

The book also came with a card from the author that I thought was so beautiful that I had to include it! That quote is literally everything! Here it is:

Thank you for joining me today! I had so much fun opening this box and talking about all of the bookish items inside! What about you? Do you subscribe to Fae Crate? Extra, Fae Crate Unboxings

Fae Crate Unboxing | High Tide (August 2019)

Screenshot_2019-06-11 Fae Crate - Let's live a thousand live together

Hello Lovelies! I’m back with another unboxing of my favorite subscription box, Fae Crate. These boxes are the highlight of my month and I could not love the items more! I hope you enjoy this month’s unboxing as much as I did! It was my favorite box so far and I loved every item in it!!!

The only complaint I would have is that these boxes came extremely late because of many delays and the book had a later release. I understand why it was pushed back, but I wasn’t happy about it. The boxes are supposed to ship on the week of the 20th of each month and these boxes didn’t ship until the 12th of September. The book’s release date was August 27th and, even if you add in that extra week delay, the boxes should have shipped well before they did.

The good thing about all of this is that the Fae Crate team has taken measures to ensure that it doesn’t happen again and the September box will ship on time. I’ll basically just get two boxes back to back instead of a period of waiting in between, like usual.

August’s Theme:

Image result for fae crate august high tides

Let’s start off with this month’s theme which was High Tide! I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t really sure if I was going to like this month’s box. Every fandom that was included was one that I had never read before which made me leery of getting the box.

Alas, despite my better judgement, I bought the box… and I am SOOOO glad I did! This was definitely my favorite Fae Crate box so far and I loved every single item in it, regardless if I was part of the fandom. Any doubts I had about Fae Crate completely went away with this box. I know I will love their boxes no matter what now.

The Box Itself:

For those that haven’t seen my previous unboxings, this is what the box looks like. It’s beautiful isn’t it?!

I just love everything about this book and the way it looks. The color and logo fit the company perfectly, the *CAUTION: magic inside* lid is absolutely adorable, and the sides that have the company slogan which say, β€œLet’s live a thousand lives together” just warms my heart.

The Items in the Box:

image3(3)

Mermaid Lagoon Magnet ~ This was a cute little magnet to add to my collection. It wasn’t anything particularly special, but I liked it.

image4(3)

Tentacle Ring ~ I thought that this item was really unique and I love it. I’ve never seen anything like it and I felt like it suited this month’s theme really well.

image1(4)

To Kill a Kingdom Drawstring Bag ~ This has got to be one of the most useful and beautiful items I have ever received from Fae Crate. The artwork is stunning, the bag feels really soft, and it is greatly sized. I can fit SO many things in it and it won’t be running out of uses any time soon.

image5(3)

Wild & Infinite Vinyl Decal ~ I have always wanted one of these to put on my laptop and I finally have one! I also really like the design and I know it will spark conversation as to where I got it!

image1(5)

Wicked Deep Sturdy Bookmark ~ Wicked Deep has been on my TBR for a while now and this bookmark has only made me more interested in the book. I just love the design and it is one of my favorite bookmarks that I own.

image6(3)

Bookmark Case ~ This is one of my most favorite bookish items that I have ever received! I had no idea that bookmark cases were a thing, but I am SOOOO happy that I have one now! It is just so perfect and I have already put it to use to hold my tons of bookmarks!

image2(3)

The Siren Coin Purse ~ I had never had a coin purse before today, but I sure have a beautiful one now!

Monthly Polaroid and Coin:

For those that don’t know, each month Fae Crate has a monthly Polaroid picture that they include and (starting last month) a monthly coin. These are exclusive to each month and you cannot get them again. Fae Crate announces what the Polaroid is to look like and what fandom the coin is going to be from on their Instagram. I highly encourage you to check them out so you can decide if you want a box before they sell out!

image4(4)

King of Scars Polaroid ~ I just love this Polaroid and I am very eager to add it to my collection! Look at Nikolai!!!!

Percy Jackson Coin ~ I have been a part of the Percy Jackson fandom for many years and I felt like this coin fit perfectly. I love the words on it and Poseidon’s trident!

September and October’s Polaroid and Coin have already been announced. For those that want to know, they are:

  • September ~ Dark Artifices Polaroid and Red Queen Coin
  • October ~ Darkest Minds Polaroid and Three Dark Crowns Coin

Monthly Ebook Download:

Each month not only does Fae Crate include a hardcover book, but they also include a code so you can download a free ebook! The ebook for this month was The Sinking by Sarah Armstrong-Garner. It definitely looks interesting and has been added to my TBR.

Book of the Month:

37777083. sy475

The Book of the Month was Crown of Coral and Pearl by Mara Rutherford. I am highly anticipating diving in to this book and I am extremely happy that it was the selection for this month.

The book also came with a card from the author that I thought was so beautiful that I had to include it! Here it is:

Fae Crate Unboxing | Power Up (July 2019)

Screenshot_2019-06-11 Fae Crate - Let's live a thousand live together

Hello Lovelies! I’m back with another unboxing of my favorite subscription box, Fae Crate. These boxes are the highlight of my month and I could not love the items more! I hope you enjoy this month’s unboxing as much as I did!

July’s Theme:

Image result for fae crate july power up

Let’s start off with this month’s theme which was Power Up! I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t really sure if I was going to like this month’s box. You see, the entire thing was based on Superheroes/Villains. Well, anyone that knows me knows that I have never been into that kind of thing so I was really leery of buying this box. Especially considering all of the fandoms listed to be in this box were ones that I wasn’t a part of.

Alas, despite my better judgement, I bought the box… and I am SOOOO glad I did! This box had some of my favorite items that I have ever gotten in it and one of the prettiest books I have ever seen!

The Items in the Box:

image1(3)

Renegades Sorting Candle ~ Not only is this item great on its own, but it is extra special to me because it is the first ever bookish candle in my collection!! I was SO excited when I heard that this candle was going to be included, not only because of what it is, but because it is an extra special candle!

Based on the color of the candle when lit, it sorts you into either one of two categories: Blue for Renegades and Red for Anarchists. Unfortunately, because of the glare from the flame, my candle looks red, but it was actually blue!

The only thing better than it being a sorting candle was its scent! It is cherry and almond scented and let me tell you… I. AM. IN. LOVE!!! It just smells SOOOOO good!!!

The only thing bad is that I haven’t read this series yet! So I don’t even know what Anarchists or Renegades are… Which side is good and which side is bad? Please let me know in the comments!

image2(2)

Steelheart Lanyard ~ If I hadn’t just got the prefect lanyard during Fae Crate’s past item sale, I would have definitely been using this item! I just love lanyards so much and the wording on it is so cool! It says, “WHERE THERE ARE VILLAINS, THERE WILL BE HEROES.” Ahhh!!! I just love that line so much!!!

image8(2)

XL Lunar Chronicles Pouch ~ *sighs dreamily* Who wouldn’t love this pouch?!?! It is just so beautiful!!! And the saying on it just cracks me up! It says, “Still holding out for that reward money” which I am told is a Thorne quote in the book Cress. I haven’t gotten to that installment yet so I’m not sure, but that sounds like Thorne and I will love this bag regardless!

When I say extra large, I am not kidding! This is the biggest pouch I have ever seen! I mean it’s bigger than my purse! There are just so many things I could use it for that my head is spinning.

image6(2)

Hero Pop Socket ~ If it wasn’t for the candle, this would probably be my favorite item in this box! Not only is it special because it is my first pop socket, but it is also a reversal of one of my favorite quotes ever, “Every villain is the hero of their own story”!! It is just so perfect!

image7(2)

Mystery Hero Cord Protector ~ This is the only item in this box that I didn’t like. From my understanding, everyone got a random cord protector put in their box. I don’t know who mine is supposed to be, but I’m not going to end up using it either way. I ended up just giving it to my younger brother.

I highly encourage you to check them out so you can decide if you want a box before they sell out!

image3(2)

Carry On Polaroid ~ Anyone that is involved in the bookish community, regardless of if you have read this book (like me), knows about this ship. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen Simon and Baz mentioned on someone’s favorite ships list. And after seeing this Polaroid, I can definitely see why! Look how adorable they are together!!

Young Elites Coin ~ I might not be a part of this fandom, but this has got to be my favorite coin yet! It is just SOOOO beautiful and, for those that don’t know, the rose happens to be my favorite flower so I was kind of destined to fall in love with this coin!

August’s Polaroid and Coin have already been announced. For those that want to know, they are:

  • August ~ King of Scars Polaroid and Percy Jackson Coin

Monthly Ebook Download:

Each month not only does Fae Crate include a hardcover book, but they also include a code so you can download a free ebook! The ebook for this month was Deviation by Christine Manzari. While it didn’t seem like my kind of book, I appreciate Fae Crate and the author’s gift anyways.

However, the download code was included on the back of this card which is just SO beautiful and I will be adding it to my bookish art wall:

image4(2)

Book of the Month:

The Book of the Month was Collateral Damage by Taylor Simonds. The hardcover included in the box for this month was a Fae Crate exclusive which means that you can’t get it anywhere else! The cover for this book was more than just an exclusive cover though! This Fae Crate edition has:

  • Reversible Dust Jacket
  • Embossed Naked Book
  • Author letter printed inside
  • Signed bookplate.
  • FREAKING SPRAYED EDGES!!!

So in conclusion… THIS BOOK WAS FREAKIN’ AWESOME!!!

Thank you for joining me today! I had so much fun opening this box and talking about all of the bookish items inside! What about you? Do you subscribe to Fae Crate? Do you subscribe to any other monthly book boxes? What do you think of my unboxing and the items in this month’s box? Please let me know!

Fae Crate Unboxing | Trial Run (June 2019)

Screenshot_2019-06-11 Fae Crate - Let's live a thousand live together

Hello Lovelies! I’m back with another unboxing of my favorite subscription box, Fae Crate. These boxes are the highlight of my month and I could not love the items more! I hope you enjoy this month’s unboxing as much as I did!

June’s Theme:

Image result for trial run fae crate

Let’s start off with this month’s theme which was Trial Run! I loved this theme and I was SO excited when I learned that the art work was based off of one of my favorite series, A Court of Thorns and Roses!!! The art of Feyre and the Middengard Wyrm is just so beautiful and fit the theme SO perfectly!

The Box Itself:

For those that didn’t see my unboxing last month, this is what the box looks like.

The Items in the Box:

image12(1)

TBR Drawstring Bag ~ This bag is just so cute and definitely goes with my TBR level! Sometimes, it feels like my TBR is never ending!

image3(1)

Ready Player One Puzzle ~ I love putting puzzles together while binge watching a TV show so I grabbed this puzzle really quick! And it wasn’t one of those easy/twenty minute puzzles either. It was actually challenging and it looked SO great when I finished it!

image6(1)

Gilded Wolves Car Coasters ~ I haven’t read this series yet, but these coasters have made me really want to. They are just so mysterious and fancy looking! They already have a spot on my desk!

image11(1)

Six of Crows Wristband ~ The band says, “TRICKERY IS MY NATIVE TONGUE” and I could not be more in love with it if I tried!!! It just fits Six of Crows so well!

The only minor complaint I have is that I wish the background art was different.

image1(2)

Prythian Globe ~ This item is my favorite bookish item I have EVER gotten! I have always been a collector of maps and the Prythian map is my favorite of all!! This globe is like a dream come true for me and it already has a special place on my bookshelves!

I highly encourage you to check them out so you can decide if you want a box before they sell out!

image2(1)

Warcross Polaroid ~ I might not be a part of this fandom, but I really liked this month’s Polaroid. I am starting a collection and I love this new addition to it!

Raven Cycle Coin ~ AHHHHHH!!!! This coin is just so great and I love it so much and I can’t stop screaming!!!!

July and August’s Polaroid and Coin have already been announced. For those that want to know, they are:

  • July ~ Carry On Polaroid and The Young Elites Coin
  • August ~ King of Scars Polaroid and Percy Jackson Coin

Monthly Ebook Download:

Each month not only does Fae Crate include a hardcover book, but they also include a code so you can download a free ebook! The ebook for this month was The Rest is Silence by Chii Rempel. This is an LGBTQIA+ fantasy and it sounds just so interesting!

The download code was included on the back of this card which is just SO beautiful and I will definitely be keeping it:

Book of the Month:

The Book of the Month was The Red Labyrinth by Meredith Tate. The hardcover included in the box for this month was a Fae Crate exclusive which means that you can’t get it anywhere else! The cover on the left is the original and the cover on the right is the exclusive.

The book also came with a letter from the author and a signed book plate (which I have already added to inside the book):

Fae Crate Unboxing | Fate’s Design (May 2019)

Screenshot_2019-06-11 Fae Crate - Let's live a thousand live together

Hello Lovelies! After years of looking at other bloggers/bookstagrammers unboxings, I finally decided to buy a book subscription box for myself. It took a few days to decide which one because there are SO MANY great companies out there, but I ultimately decided to go with Fae Crate. They are stationed in my country (the US), the High Ladies that run the box are incredibly nice, and the items in their boxes each month have always intrigued me.

I am SO glad that I decided to buy the box for May because, starting that month, each box will come with a special collector’s coin that is based on a different fandom each month. Also, the items that came in the box blew me away and I could not stop screeching with joy!

Anyways, here is my unboxing of Fae Crate’s May box!

May’s Theme:

Image result for fae crate may fate's design

Let’s start off with this month’s theme which was Fate’s Design! I loved this theme and I was SO excited when I learned that the art work was based off of the series, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor! I might not have enjoyed this series as much as other people did, but I can’t deny that the world and imagery that Laini Taylor created is anything other than pure magic. I loved the art work that Gabriella Bujdoso created for this month and I just can’t stop staring!!! Madrigal and Karou look so beautiful!!!

The Box Itself:

I thought I’d start with pictures of the box itself for those that haven’t seen it before. I must say, I love everything about this book and the way it looks. The color and logo fit the company perfectly, the *CAUTION: magic inside* lid is absolutely adorable, and the sides that have the company slogan which say “Let’s live a thousand lives together” just warms my heart.

The Items in the Box:

DOSAB Book Slip ~ Based on the art work for this month’s theme, this lovely book slip was included in the box. I’ve already talked about the art work so you know how much I love it, but the book slip itself I love as well. It is just so beautiful and silky feeling! I have never used a book slip before but I want to now!

Have you used one? Please let me know in the comments what you think of them and if they serve their purpose.

TBR Pen ~ I love this pen! It writes with the same color ink as the color of the box and the sayings on the sides fit me perfectly! The main writing on the pen says, “To read or not to read? That is the question.” It then has many smaller texts that change with each time you click the pen. They say:

  • You’ll need your hangover kit.
  • All pages point to yes!
  • It’s going to be an all-nighter…
  • This one’s going to hurt

Furyborn Enamel Necklace ~ I haven’t read Furyborn yet and it has been on my TBR for a while now, but this necklace bumped it up to the top of my list! It’s just so beautiful and fits the book’s cover perfectly!

image12.jpeg

Magnus Von Magnus Incense Set ~ The inscription on the lid says, “Incense in the Fashionable Stylings of Magnus Von Magnus. The Harbinger of Debauchery”. This incense set is dedicated to the magnificent Magnus Bane from the Shadowhunter Chronicles! How could I not love it?!?! And it truly smells magnificent! I can’t get enough!

Shoppe of Fortunes Banner ~ This banner is by Blissfully Bookish Tees and I couldn’t be more intrigued by it! I am and always will be a Harry Potter fan so any item like this is truly a treasure to me! I have a place on my wall picked out already for where this is gonna go when I finish moving.

Monthly Polaroid and Coin:

For those that don’t know, each month Fae Crate has a monthly Polaroid picture that they include and (starting this month) a monthly coin. These are exclusive to each month and you cannot get them again. Fae Crate announces what the Polaroid is to look like and what fandom the coin is going to be from on their Instagram. I highly encourage you to check them out so you can decide if you want a box before they sell out!

Wrath & the Dawn Polaroid ~ The art for this Polaroid is by lemoncielart. I haven’t read this duology yet, but I am dying to now! This Polaroid is just so cute and I need to know these characters!!! (And after seeing Aladdin in the theaters, I’m really feeling this sort of book right now)

A Darker Shade of Magic Coin ~ The Fae Crate logo side of this coin fit the whole vibe of the company to a tee and the ADSOM side of the coin blew me away. I might not be the biggest fan of that trilogy, but the “I am not most girls” quote on the coin spoke to me so much!!

June and July’s Polaroid and Coin have already been announced and they are:

  • June ~ Warcross Polaroid and The Raven Cycle Coin
  • July ~ Carry On Polaroid and The Young Elites Coin

The Monthly Ebook Download:

Each month not only does Fae Crate include a hardcover book, but they also include a code so you can download a free ebook! The ebook for this month was Imber (Thanatos Trilogy #1) by Tyffany Hackett. I haven’t read it yet, but I added it to my TBR because it sounds really interesting!

Book of the Month:

The Book of the Month was Lovestruck by Kate Watson. The hardcover included in the box for this month was a Fae Crate exclusive which means that you can’t get it anywhere else! The cover on the left is the original and the cover on the right is the exclusive.

The book also came with a letter from the author and a signed book plate (which I have already added to inside the book).

Thank you for joining me today! I had so much fun opening this box and talking about all of the bookish items inside! I also love Fae Crate and all of the girls that work there. They went out of their way to make sure I got my box while I was moving and I will never forget it considering the month I’ve had. What about you? Do you subscribe to Fae Crate? Do you subscribe to any other monthly book boxes? What do you think of my unboxing and the items in this month’s box? Please let me know!
