I loved this short story! It was so cute and it just warmed my heart. I almost wish it would have been included in House of Korba. I read that first and I wish I would have stopped halfway through and read this one. I feel that my reading experience would have been better if I did. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it and I am glad I read it.

Synopsis:

It’s homecoming week at Ashley Waters, but Sang Sorenson has a lot more on her mind than dresses and crowns. Silas’s troubled past—full of secrets he and his team thought they’d buried—comes back to haunt him, threatening to ruin everything.

Silas tries to deal, but guilt weighs heavily on him and Sang realizes she might be the only one who can help him keep it together.

Bomb threats have increased. They are followed at every turn. The principal is resorting to drastic measures to make sure they’re all going to be kicked out. Pushed to their limits, Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North, along with other members of the Academy, have finally had enough. This time, more Academy members are brought in to help hunt down the culprit, and keep everyone safe. It’ll cost the boys, but in the end, even a bittersweet victory is better than disaster.

This time, they’re getting what they need. All it takes is learning the line of when to let go, and when to never give up

The Academy, Together

“When is it enough?” he asked. “We’re told to let go of the ones that don’t want help. How long do we try before we step back and let them do what they want? Before it’s hurting everyone else around you to keep that person around?”

I liked this book. While it wasn’t the best one in the series, it was still pretty good. This series has the best flow between books that I have ever read in my life. The stories just pick up after each other and fit to the point where it doesn’t even feel like multiple books but just one long story.

The guys are awesome. Everything you could possibly want in a boyfriend one or more of them has. They are all such good friends that have made a family and how they are making Sang apart of it just warms my heart. I love how C.L. Stone includes moments with all of the boys. Even if the installment is focused on one of them in particular, each of them still get scenes where they shine through. I like how each of them is slowly getting introduced into the idea of sharing and how each of them are having different reactions.

Sang is starting to get more confidence in herself as the stories go on which I am so thankful for. I hope she continues to build confidence and will eventually trust the guys enough to say what she is thinking even if it will make one of them mad.

Nathan’s possessiveness is starting to piss me off but he is starting to come around to the idea of sharing Sang so I can’t complain too bad. I can’t wait to read the next installment!

Synopsis:

Sang Sorenson struggles with her growing feelings when the Academy boys take her in and draw her closer into their world. They work together to uncover the true secrets happening at Ashley Waters High School, where Principal Hendricks will stop at nothing to take them all down.

Adding to their complications, Nathan’s father shows up, and he’s just as ruthless and violent as ever, beating up on Nathan. Sang offers Nathan refuge in her home, but Marie is fed up with the boys. She wants them out–all of them—and wants them to take Sang with them. Where will Sang go? What will happen to Nathan? And what about Mr. Hendrick’s spies, watching all of them?

Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North will have to focus to get out of this mess, but with Sang assisting them, they’re struggling to keep control. They all promised not to make a move on Sang unless she initiates, but the tension is driving them all to distraction. With the help of Dr. Green and Mr. Blackbourne, they will have to stay strong and engaged. But A first kiss is imminent, and will cost them all more than they could ever have imagined.

“Nathan smirked. “Ha ha. He called you and not me.”
“Shut up,” Gabriel said. “I’ll be back.” He approached me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. He lifted me like that until my toes grazed the tile. He started dragging me to the door. “Just going to take this with me.”

SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:

I loved this book! It was definitely the best in the series so far. I complained about the last novel having a slow romantic plot. That was totally flipped around for this book. There was so much sexual tension, it was coming off in waves. Sang finally got her first kiss! It was perfect. It was everything I didn’t know I wanted. I felt that C.L. Stone picked the perfect person, Dr. Green, to be her first kiss.

Unfortunately, I was spoiled for the end of the book so the Nathan and Sang scenes were ruined. I knew what he was going to do beforehand so I didn’t like him as much in this book and it left a sour feeling. That is not the books fault in any way, but the stupid person that left a spoiler in the questions section of Goodreads.

I definitely felt like Gabriel, Dr. Green, and Mr. Blackbourne got more scenes in this installment. They were present a lot more and I got to connect a lot more with them. I feel like Dr. Green and Mr. Blackbourne took the cake for this one. We got a lot more details about them and their lives. I’m definitely shipping them with Sang a lot more now. I didn’t quite feel it in previous novels but I definitely felt it in this one. We also got some very cute and memorable moments with Luke, Silas, and North which I was fan-girling so hard during them. I can’t wait to read the next installment!

🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

“Mr. Blackbourne seemed to understand me completely, reading my thoughts. “I tried to deny it before, too. I can’t any more. You belong with us.” He reached out, his finger catching the tear on my cheek, cleaning my skin. Mr. Blackbourne, the perfectionist. He leaned down, his voice a soft whisper in my ear. “Stay with us. Always.”

I really liked this book and this series. The plot just flows and the story just connects. The characters are each great and I love every one of them. Sang is starting to stand up to the guys more which I am so happy about. For a while, I was worried that she would never tell them when she was annoyed or angry. She’s starting to trust them and call for them when she needs them. Silas, North, Gabriel, Kota, Nathan, Victor, Luke, Dr. Green, and Mr. Blackbourne are starting to include her more as well and I could tell that they made an effort in this book. They aren’t quite where I want them to be but they’ll get there.

I have to admit that I am starting to get annoyed with the books. While the plot is fast paced and moves along nicely, the romantic plot is slow. Sure there is plenty of drama and everything, but let’s face it, NONE of the guys have even kissed her yet! I thought that after the big revelation at the end of Forgiveness and Permission, things would start to move along but only two of the guys (North and Victor) (excluding Mr. Blackbourne) have admitted they love her and have agreed to the sharing plan. C.L. Stone needs to pick up the pace if I am going to remain interested. I know that the 10th book is called First Kiss and if I have to wait that long for one of the boys to just kiss her I’m going to pull my hair out. I like slow burn romance but come on, this is practically nonexistent.

“You’re the strongest little beautiful creature I’ve ever met.”

MINOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I really liked this book and this series. It is so hilarious while also having some really dark and hard moments. The characters are so great and their relationships with each other make me so jealous. Sang is going through a really tough time in her life and she really needs someone to be there for her. Luckily for her, she has Silas, Kota, North, Victor, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke, Dr. Green, and Mr. Blackbourne. They are all there for her when she needs them and each of them care about her so much. I can feel it through the writing how much they care about her.

Sang sometimes gets on my nerves with how she holds everything in and never really speaks up, but I can’t really blame her with the upbringing she had. There was a point in this book where the boys were cleaning up the shed in her front yard and she wouldn’t say that she wanted a simple and calm day with them and with no work involved. She just let it go because she thought they would think of her as a nuisance if she did. Later, she finally exploded and I WAS SO PROUD OF HER! She finally said what she was feeling and I was so happy. Hopefully, she will do it more in the future and trust the boys not to run away if she shows her true feelings.

I have to admit my favorite parts of the books are the ends. The ~A~ sections where it is through one of the boys point of views are just amazing and give me everything I want. I can’t wait to see what happens after the revelation Mr. Anderson revealed at the end. It should certainly push things in the direction I am ready for it to go the next book. I really am starting to fall for this series and I can’t wait for the next installment.

“Family is a choice?”
“It is?”His thumb pressed into my palm firmly. “It’s your choice. Parents and siblings are your relations. Family takes care of one another and helps each other. When each side is working together, when everyone wants it, that makes the difference.”

MINOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I really liked this book. This series has really great flow between books. It doesn’t feel like I’m reading different books but just one long story and I really like that about this series.

Can I just say that I HATE Sang’s family?! They are each horrible and she deserves so much better. She has such a big heart and is just a great person. She is a prime example that people shouldn’t be judged by the actions of their family. I am so glad that she found Silas, North, Gabriel, Victor, Luke, Nathan, and Kota. They are all so great. They are each different and unique but somehow just fit together. Sang has made her own family out of these boys and it just warms my heart.

The ending scene with the boys meeting with each other was just so great. I’m really excited to see where the series goes after their little discussion and now agreement. This was a great addition to this series and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

MINOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I really liked this book. This series is so easy to read and flows really well between books. It doesn’t even feel like multiple books but just one long story. The camaraderie between the male characters and Sang is priceless. I love each of the guys. Normally, I would like one or two more than the rest but I love all of them! How could I not? They are each so different from the other males in the group yet somehow they fit together into a perfect working unit. I love how protective they are of Sang and how loving they are towards her. She has a hard family life so it is a relief to see her making her own family out of the boys. Dr. Green and Mr. Blackbourne I am still trying to figure out. It was revealed that Blackbourne is actually 19 which I find to be crazy because he acts so much older. I’m still trying to figure out if there will be a romantic thing between him and Sang because he did mention being attracted to her at the end of this book. I get similar vibes from Dr. Green but I’m not 100% sure. This series has a lot of promise and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Grateful for an influence outside of her parents’ negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends.

Only the boys have secrets of their own and they’ll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they’ve sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected. Will her loyalty change when she’s forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she’s traded one house of secrets for another?

“Will you stop being cute? Your nose is smudging the window. My god, you’re worse than a puppy.”

I really liked this book. It was a great start and introductory to the series. I can already tell that this series has a lot of potential. Sang is so unique from any female protagonist I have ever read before. She has never been allowed to have a social life so when it comes to the boys, she is constantly questioning little things that the average person wouldn’t even think twice about. It makes reading her perspective very interesting and different. I love the boys so far. Each of them are so different from the others in the group so it is surprising that they are such close friends. I can’t wait to read the next installment.
