Love isn’t always one plus one. Our hearts have the capacity to expand broader than most people assume is possible.”

Why this quote?

I am a big RH reader and I feel like this quote is the embodiment of the genre. More people need to open their hearts and start loving instead of hating.

“Whether you’re beaten or pampered, fed the best foods or starved, kept in filth or kept clean, a cage is still a cage.”

Why this quote?

I feel like this quote is really important for people to hear. It is true in fantasy books yes, but it also applies to life. Sometimes, we let ourselves stay in a bad situation on the assumption that “it could be worse”. This is not a good outlook to have and it is not okay to just settle because you don’t think you can find something better. You can, I promise. Never settle for anything less than what you deserve.

“It was impossible, of course. But when did that ever stop any dreamer from dreaming.”

Why this quote?

I don’t think that this quote needs much explaining as to why I like it so much. It’s a beautiful quote and it warms my heart every time I read it.

People will judge no matter what you do. It’s in their nature. They will judge what you choose to do with your life and they’ll find you wanting. They won’t agree with your choices, even if they would have made the same choices themselves.”

Why this quote?

This quote is so unfortunately true and I hate that. But, I feel like it needs to be heard so people realize just how messed up things can be.

“It is easier for a male to take a life then for a female to give it.”

Why this quote?

You can make fun of the cover all you want, but this book actually had some serious issues in it and addressed some things that not many others do. This quote being one of them. It just really spoke to me when I read it and I couldn’t get it out of my head. Confession: I sometimes even quote it to people.

“Sometimes the greatest wounds are the ones we try the hardest not to inflict.”

Why this quote?

This is one of those philosophical quotes that, the more you think about it, the more it begins to make sense. It’s one of those that you keep thinking about long after you sat the book down.

“Holding onto anger was like drinking poison and hoping the other person would die.”

Why this quote?

I saw this quote in a recent read and it felt like I had been hit with a brick wall, because it is so harshly true. Holding on to anger really doesn’t do you (the presumably wronged party) any good. It can only hurt.

“I don’t care what anyone says, every girl needs to have a good long cry once in a while. The kind that weakens you, swells your eyes shut, and strips away every shred of emotion from your body until the pain subsides. The pain of… whatever. Death, heartbreak, solitude, desire, jealousy. All the crap that becomes a badge of honor among women—like those little merit badges Girl Scouts have sewn on their uniforms, only these badges are stitched across our hearts.”

Why this quote?

This quote is just so spot on and I absolutely love that an author put it in their book!
