Pleasure is their ultimate weapon . . .
Runa Wagner never meant to fall in love with the sexy stranger who seemed to know her every deepest desire. But she couldn’t resist the unbelievable passion that burned between them, a passion that died when she discovered his betrayal and found herself forever changed. Now, determined to make Shade pay for the transformation that haunts her, Runa searches for him, only to be taken prisoner by his darkest enemy.
A Seminus Demon with a love-curse that threatens him with eternal torment, Shade hoped he’d seen the last of Runa and her irresistible charm. But when he wakes up in a dank dungeon chained next to an enraged and mysteriously powerful Runa, he realizes that her effect on him is more dangerous than ever. As their captor casts a spell that bonds them as lifemates, Shade and Runa must fight for their lives and their hearts-or succumb to a madman’s evil plans.
“You can’t truly hate someone you’ve loved. You can only hurt.”
I loved this book and just about everything in it! There was plot twist after plot twist that always had me on the edge of my seat. The pacing was fast and made me not want to put this book down. The characters were multi-dimensional and complicated in a way that I just love. The villain was believable and I appreciated its connection to the protagonists of the book. Like I said, I loved just about everything.
Runa- I felt like she had a beautiful character arc and the development of her character was just great. I loved her passion and strong willed nature. She knew what she wanted and she was gonna get it come hell or high water. She was determined, strong, brave, and she totally kicked ass. But those weren’t the only things going for her character. She was loving, compassionate, and tortured over her past. When I learned her back story, I felt really bad for her and I loved her even more than I did before.
Shade- I’m not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant to start this book because of Shade. He was an asshole to Tayla in the last book and I wasn’t his biggest fan. After reading this book though, I love and adore him. He was in an impossible situation and I hated how tortured he was over things. Hearing about his earlier life broke my heart and I was just so happy that Runa and him came together in the end.
Wraith- I am really excited to see what will happen to Wraith now that he has gone through his s’genesis. I’m hoping that he gets smacked with a mate soon because I know I would highly enjoy seeing that.
Gem & Kylan- These two. I just want to bang their heads together and tell them to just get together already. They both clearly want it. I’m just wondering if it will ever happen after what happened to Kylan in this book.
What I Didn’t Like- The only thing I didn’t like was the BDSM scene. I still don’t understand the scene where Shade whipped Runa. I don’t get her need for it or how it “healed” her. That whole scene was just awkward and weird for me. I didn’t like how it was explained.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I will be continuing the series with Passion Unleashed. I can’t wait to start it!
