MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
I loved this book. The world that it is set in is just so fascinating to me. This series is literally about a world where demons, vampires, imps, and werewolves run a hospital! I would have thought that the idea was completely asinine before reading this book. After reading this though, I am enthralled by the concept. Plus, the plot twists were really well thought out and quite a few shocked me. They just kept on coming and I was constantly getting hit with a new one every couple chapters.

Tayla- Tayla was so strong and I feel bad for the stuff she went through as a kid. I have to admit though, she frustrated me for the first half of this book. She was just so stuck in her ways and I think that Eidolon said it perfectly when he said that she was just a lemming following orders. She didn’t want to see reason or admit the truth to herself (which was right in front of her the whole time). But, after she “saw the light”, I warmed up to Tayla’s character significantly and started to sympathize with her. I imagine that it must be hard to realize what you have fought for your whole life was a lie. I’m just glad that she opened her eyes before it was too late and someone really got hurt. I did feel like the progression of her character throughout the book was spot on though. I could tell a clear difference from her in the beginning and her in the end.

Eidolon- How could I not love Eidolon? He is basically everything I look for in a guy… well except for maybe the demon part. He was just so giving and always wanted to do the right thing. When I heard about what he had been doing for Wraith all those years, my heart truly broke for him. I certainly can’t wait for the revelation to come to a head in the later books.

Shade- Shade got a little annoying with the always wanting to kill Tayla thing, but my curiosity won out when it came to him. I am dying to know what his curse is and I can’t wait for him to get smacked with a love interest.

Wraith- Didn’t get to see enough of him, but I love him already. He’s dark, brooding, and tortured… How could I not love him?

Gem- I want more of her. I got see a little bit but I am really looking forward to diving deeper into her character.

Kynan- I don’t know what to think about him. He seems like a good guy, but he was a little too blissfully ignorant. I saw his wife betraying him coming from a mile away and I’m curious to see how he is going to handle that as well as his whole world being turned upside down. Plus, I’m interested to see if him and Gem are going to end up together.

Luc- I want more of Luc! I loved that brief chapter that I got in his head and I really want to know more about him.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I will be continuing the series with the next book, Desire Unchained very soon.
