Synopsis:

Hope warms the coldest night.

Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve.

Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated–scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

“I think my heart knew you were mine long before I ever realized it.”

I loved this book. It gave me all of the feels and I couldn’t put it down! This book was so small. I knew that going in, but I found myself wanting to make it last longer each chapter I read. I have a feeling that this book never would have been long enough though.
I cried many times because this book was bittersweet for me. On one hand, an exciting new chapter in this series is staring but on the other, a chapter is closing. Even though Rhys and Feyre will be in the future books, this was the last book in their point of views and about their love story. A part of me was so happy to see them in a good place and finally together but another part of me was sad because I couldn’t help but feel like this is the end in a way.
Rhys and Feyre’s story has had a big impact on my life and I am just not ready to let go of that yet. Feyre says towards the end of the book that “it will never be enough” and she is right. I will never get enough of these characters and Sarah’s writing.
Like I said, as one chapter ends, another begins. I am so excited to read the next book in this series. I know that it will be another long year of waiting but I’m ready. I know that it will be worth it in the end. The teaser chapter at the end has my mind going in ten thousand different directions and I am sure that Sarah will go in none of those directions.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book even though I was crying every ten minutes because a character would say something that would bring up past memories of the series. The dedication alone had me in tears and really struck a cord with me. I will never get enough of this series and I can’t wait to see what will happen to these characters next.
